A Christmas Carol

by Ju C.

I had a great time with Carleen. I had
never seen a play here, so I was happy to
see the play.

I had a special feeling about their acting and performance. I know about Ebenezer Scrooge story in Korea from Charles Dickens, a 19th-century British author. This story was about the character of Ebenezer Scrooge who was the stingy and greedy person
during Christmas.

Ebenezer Scrooge was played by a good actor and Tiny Tim also was so cute when I saw their performance. Ebenezer Scrooge of the actor had a great voice and he was like a real Ebenezer Scrooge. One thing I was wondering that Tiny Tim was an Asian child, so the race was different from the family in the play. Because I wanted to see reality from the play. I didn’t believe adoption for Tiny Tim in this story. All spirits had unique characters. I liked to see the actor who played the ghost of Christmas past because she had good energy. I was impressed by the gorgeous shiny dress that she wore.

The stage was so fantastic. I liked seeing the projector lighting on the stage. And I was surprised by the sound effects but I liked them because they knew how to make people tense in the play. They had good sound work for every part and I enjoyed hearing the live Christmas carol songs from the 3 actors.

I really appreciated Carleen’s deep thinking about introducing me to American culture. I didn’t know people go to the theater with their children when Christmas season is coming. Many children learn Christmas
spirit and charity to poor people here. They can learn to broaden their perspectives and to enlighten them from a good educational play.

Also, I loved to see the Walnut Creek art center. This center has an exhibition room so we watched Abstract Art. I was impressed by this art because I love art and acting. I am also learning Abstract Art now, so I had a lot of inspiration from a lot of arts. I will not forget this day, thanks to Carleen.
